FAQs

  • How can I book a stay? You can book directly through our website or by calling our reservations team at 843-936-1688. For large groups or event-specific inquiries, please reach out to us directly.

    Can I book directly instead of using a third-party site? Yes — and we encourage it! Booking here on our website ensures you receive the best pricing and access to exclusive promotions.

    What forms of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Zelle and ACH. If you’d like to avoid credit card processing fees, please contact us.

    Is a deposit required? A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 60 days prior to arrival.

    How do I know my payment went through? You’ll receive a confirmation email from hello@respiteandrevelry.com and a receipt as soon as your payment is processed.

    Are there minimum stay requirements? A minimum stay of three nights is required on weekends and two nights on weekdays.

    Do you offer any discounts or promotions? We run seasonal specials throughout the year, available exclusively on our website. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about these deals.

    Are there additional fees? Cleaning fees, taxes, and applicable pet or concierge fees will be added. All fees are disclosed prior to booking.

    Is there an age requirement to book a stay? The primary guest must be at least 25 years old to make a reservation.

  • We strongly recommend purchasing third-party travel insurance to protect your vacation investment.

    Travel insurance can help cover unexpected circumstances such as illness, flight delays, or severe weather that may disrupt your stay.

    We suggest starting with your primary insurance provider to see if travel coverage is already available. If not, there are many third-party providers that offer comprehensive options tailored to travelers.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    For reservations made directly through our website: cancellations made 60+ days prior to arrival receive a full refund, minus credit card processing fees. Reservations canceled within 60 days of arrival are non-refundable.

    Reservations booked through third-party sites (such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com) are subject to that platform’s cancellation policies.

    Do you offer refunds during hurricanes or natural disasters?

    We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance through a third party to protect your plans. We do not offer refunds based on weather or natural disaster conditions. If an official State of Emergency is declared in South Carolina during your stay dates, please contact us to discuss your options.

    What happens if I need to leave early?

    We’re unable to provide refunds for early departures.

    Can I change my reservation dates or guest count?

    Date changes and location changes may be accommodated if requested 60+ days prior to arrival, based on availability. We are unable to make adjustments to reservations for guest count changes.

  • What time is check-in and check-out?

    Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

    May I check in early or check out late?

    We’ll do our best to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests; however, availability is not guaranteed and a small fee may apply. Please check back with us the week of your arrival to confirm.

    How do I access the property?

    All homes feature contactless check-in with keypad entry. You’ll receive detailed check-in instructions by email seven days prior to your stay.

    What do I need to do at check-out?

    Before you leave, please remove all trash from the home and start the dishwasher. Our housekeeping team will handle the rest.

  • What’s the best way to get around?

    Downtown Charleston is very walkable. For nearby beaches or attractions, we recommend using a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft. For short trips downtown, pedicabs and bike rentals are fun and convenient options.

    Do properties include parking?

    Each home includes at least one designated parking space. Please check your specific listing or reach out for details. Additional parking may be arranged for your stay, subject to availability and a small fee.

    How far is the airport?

    The Charleston International Airport is approximately 15–20 minutes away by car.

    What’s the best way to get to the beach?

    Ride-share services such as Uber or Lyft are the easiest way to reach our local beaches, especially since parking can be limited during peak seasons.

  • Where can we store luggage if we arrive early or leave late?

    We can store bags for a small fee in a secure location at our office. Please reach out ahead of time to arrange this service.

    Can I ship packages to my rental?

    We are happy to accept packages, but cannot be held liable for their safe delivery or timing. We advise that all packages be shipped to our office, not to your rental home. Depending on the size of the items and the length of storage, small fees may apply. Please contact our team before shipping packages.

    Is the neighborhood safe?

    Yes! Our homes are located in the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood—a lively and welcoming area of downtown Charleston.

    Can I see reviews from previous guests?

    Guest reviews are available on our listings across third-party platforms such as Airbnb and Vrbo.

    Each home is thoughtfully stocked with essentials to make your stay comfortable.
