    You can book your Charleston stay directly on our website or by calling our reservations team at 843-936-1688. For large groups, wedding accommodations, or event-related stays, we recommend reaching out to our team so we can help coordinate the best homes for your group.

    Can I book directly instead of using a third-party site?

    Yes — and we encourage it. Booking directly through our website ensures you receive the best available pricing, access to exclusive promotions, and the most accurate availability for our Charleston homes.

    What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Zelle, and ACH payments. If you prefer to avoid credit card processing fees, our team is happy to assist with alternative payment options.

    Is a deposit required to secure a reservation?

    Yes. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

    How do I know my payment was processed successfully?

    Once your payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt from hello@respiteandrevelry.com confirming your reservation details.

    Are there minimum stay requirements?

    Most stays require a minimum of three nights on weekends and two nights on weekdays. Certain holidays, events, or peak travel periods may require longer minimum stays.

    Do you offer promotions or seasonal discounts?

    Yes. We occasionally offer seasonal promotions and special offers that are available exclusively when booking directly through our website. We recommend signing up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about upcoming offers.

    Are there additional fees?

    Cleaning fees, taxes, and any applicable pet or concierge service fees will be included in your reservation. All fees are clearly displayed during the booking process before your reservation is confirmed.

    Is there an age requirement to book a stay?

    Yes. The primary guest responsible for the reservation must be at least 25 years old.

  • Should I purchase travel insurance?

    We strongly recommend purchasing third-party travel insurance to protect your vacation investment.

    Travel insurance can help cover unexpected circumstances such as illness, flight delays, severe weather, or other disruptions that may impact your Charleston stay. While we hope every trip goes exactly as planned, travel insurance provides added peace of mind if plans change unexpectedly.

    We suggest starting with your primary insurance provider to see if travel coverage is already available. If not, there are many third-party providers that offer comprehensive options tailored to travelers.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    For reservations made directly through our website, cancellations made 60 or more days prior to arrival will receive a full refund minus credit card processing fees. Reservations canceled within 60 days of arrival are non-refundable.

    Reservations booked through third-party platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com are subject to the cancellation policies of those platforms.

    Do you offer refunds during hurricanes or natural disasters?

    We strongly recommend purchasing third-party travel insurance to protect your plans. Travel insurance can help cover unexpected disruptions such as severe weather, flight delays, illness, or other circumstances that may impact your stay.

    We do not offer refunds based on weather or natural disaster conditions. If an official State of Emergency is declared in South Carolina during your stay dates, please contact our team to discuss available options.

    What happens if I need to leave early?

    We are unable to provide refunds for early departures.

    Can I change my reservation dates or guest count?

    Date or location changes may be accommodated if requested 60 or more days prior to arrival, based on availability. Adjustments for guest count changes are not permitted after a reservation has been confirmed.

    Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

    May I check in early or check out late?

    We’ll do our best to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests; however, availability cannot be guaranteed and a small fee may apply. Please check back with our team during the week of your arrival to confirm availability.

    How do I access the property?

    All homes feature contactless check-in with secure keypad entry. You will receive detailed check-in instructions by email approximately seven days prior to your arrival.

    What do I need to do at check-out?

    Before departure, we kindly ask that you remove all trash from the home and start the dishwasher. Our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.

    Our homes are located in the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood of downtown Charleston. Known for its charming historic homes, locally loved cafés, restaurants, and boutiques, this vibrant area offers an authentic Charleston experience just a short walk from King Street and many of the city’s most popular destinations.

    Is the neighborhood safe?

    Yes. Cannonborough/Elliotborough is a lively and welcoming neighborhood in downtown Charleston with a strong sense of community. Like any urban area, we recommend guests remain aware of their surroundings, but visitors consistently enjoy the neighborhood’s walkability, local businesses, and welcoming atmosphere

  • What’s the best way to get around Charleston?

    Downtown Charleston is very walkable, making it easy to explore many of the city’s restaurants, shops, and historic sites on foot. For nearby beaches or attractions, we recommend using a ride-share service such as Uber or Lyft. For short trips around downtown, pedicabs and bike rentals are also fun and convenient options.

    Do properties include parking?

    Each home includes at least one designated parking space. Please check your specific listing or reach out to our team for details. Additional parking may be arranged for your stay, subject to availability and a small fee.

    How far is the airport?

    Charleston International Airport is approximately a 15–20 minute drive from downtown Charleston, depending on traffic.

    What’s the best way to get to the beach?

    Ride-share services such as Uber or Lyft are typically the easiest way to reach Charleston’s nearby beaches, especially since parking can be limited during peak seasons.

  • Where can we store luggage if we arrive early or leave late?

    We offer secure luggage storage at our office for a small fee if you arrive before check-in or need to store bags after check-out. Please contact our team ahead of time to arrange this service.

    Can I ship packages to my rental?

    We are happy to accept packages on your behalf; however, we cannot be held responsible for delivery timing or condition. We recommend shipping all packages to our office rather than directly to your rental home. Depending on the size of the items and the length of storage, a small handling or storage fee may apply. Please contact our team before shipping packages so we can coordinate details.
